#71: when dinosaurs ruled the earth

I went to this 'birthday party' from Lipton Ice Tea, which featured a tennis match between Guillermo Vilas (who?) and Björn Borg(best tennis player ever - they even named a Star Trek race after him!), as a re-enactment of the 1978 Rolland Garros finals. Because that was 30 years ago, and Lipton Ice Tea exists 30 years this year, you see?
I won tickets by answering some very easy questions. I only participated because it was in the sports center a few blocks away, and you know, I don't dislike tennis.

It was rather fun. The match was quite good, these guys are like 55 but still play better than the top of women's tennis today. No, really, they do. Very technical play, very few errors, very long rallies.

They also had free Ice Tea! Which is one of my favourite drinks, so that was good heh. There was a lot of side animation as well, like BMXers jumping over random things like people. And yes, cheerleaders. Which leads me to the picture of the day! Hehe. Only because it reminded me of American Beauty.

More pictures here. Took good advantage of my camera's zoom, which is awesome. Probably the best tennis picture I took was this great action shot:

I'll shut up now.

(oh yeah, Borg won. He was ahead most of the time, so I secretly supported for Vilas. Also because he's left-handed and quite the clown.)
