#128: packing all our bags, part 2

Now with added bags from my dad! Exciting!

#127: we're packing all our bags and we're leaving for the treehouse

Actually I'm leaving for France, and I'll be there for 2 weeks. So don't expect any updates in that time. I'll make up for it when I get back by posting 14 pictures of the same mountain, mmkay?

Bye!

#126: survivor

Yeah I survived, and so did my cinema ticket.

But seriously guys, go see DOOMSDAY! It's, as they say, awesome! Fans of Hot Fuzz/cheesy 80s action movies should love this. And anyone who doesn't love it is simply wrong.

#125: farewell, beautiful swan...

So he lost against the future number 1, so what?

One can never have enough Gulbis/failed pictures.

I also found out Gulbis means swan in latvian. Awww.

#124: nesting, part 3

Happy little family :D

(...they probably weren't so happy when this great thunderstorm hit them hard a few hours after I took this picture. Completely unsheltered nest and all that)

I love observing them, it's so cute. Most of the time daddy does the food collecting while mum guards the nest, but sometimes it's the other way around. Yesterday the chicks were already trying to leave the nest, so mum just put herself on them. I'm guessing they'll leave the nest at the end of the week.

#123: head above water

Another very quick snapshot with my spycamphone. There are actually 4 statues, the missing one was camera shy I guess.

...okay okay, this could be another candidate for my fictional (for now) crappy photography blog.
And I really thought I already had a picture of the city center park in my 365 thing, but apparently not.

#122: lawnmower man

I actually like it when the grass is still slightly wet and it sticks to the machine. Mushy green yumminess.

#121: slim and light vs. white

Slim & Light really is not a bad subtitle for the new and improved PSP; he really lost a lot of weight! It almost feels too light now, like he's slightly anorexic heh.

So anyone want an "old" PSP? In perfect condition, with all the side equipement (headphones etc.) And he's white, so he won't try to steal your car or something.

#120: I am failure

If I'm ever going to do another picture blog, it's going to be about failed/blurry/crappy pictures like this. Really, I think I could already easily do at least 50 entries about different subjects.

#119: great art

The game is definitely showing its age (and this is the 'graphically enhanced' version), but Castlevania: Symphony of the Night still rocks, thanks to great enemy/level design, music, atmosphere and backgrounds like this.

#118: angel face

Gulbis on the main page of the Roland Gaross site? An article about him? Holy crap, are people finally going to give him the attention he deserves?
"One of the more unusual and likeable young players" heh.

#117: nesting, part two

There are little ones in it now! I counted 3!

#116: your restaurant doesn't rule

Not a very interesting picture, but this is/was The Red Pepper, Ostend's entry in the Belgian version of My Restaurant rules. They were out of the contest pretty quickly and deservedly, mainly because of their cook sabotaging the whole thing, and the girl being a complete bitch.
But the show is insanely popular, and as you can see people are still coming to look at it. I heard someone say "how can you go to Ostend and NOT visit this?", and everyone around that place was talking about the show.

#115: anchors away

It was Oostende voor anker again this week, basically a big boat show with lots of side animation. Weather was great this year, lots and lots of people where here. More ships than usual as well I think.

Bonus picture:

That doesn't look like me at all, it really looks like it could be a 25 year old guy. And he looks fat.

#114: nesting

The neighbour cut the hedge, but there was a nest in it! So he left it alone, and the bird came back. All unprotected now though, and it's really hot now, with rain underway...

#113: Liberty City

Yeah yeah more GTA IV, but I'm really impressed with how well the city is laid out. It's all connected and it all makes sense.

(this, by the way, is a map you get with the game. You don't really need it for the missions, but it's handy for other things)

#111: tagged

Do any of you cut off tags like these? They can really annoy me sometimes.

Monday, 19 May 2008

#110: you're in, for a good time

I could probably do a 365 completely about GTA IV, but I won't. But have a picture anyway.

#109: canned emotions

Birthday present for my mum: 8 cinema tickets! (obviously I'll use most of those myself, but it's the thought that counts, right? heh)

#108: rear window

View from the bathroom of my dads house. If you look at the larger picture you can actually see him in the garden.

#107: mirrored, part 2

Yeah okay I'll stop posting Ian pics now.

#106: HD-DVDeath

Yeah I know HD-DVD is dead, but it was only €10!!!!!! Come on! It used to be €200 or something!
The only stupid thing is that there are only about 6 cool movies out on HD-DVD, half of them I already own on DVD, and the other half is still stupidly expensive, even on ebay (which is really the only place I can still find HD-DVDs). I got Children of Men though, still have to see it.

#105: mirrored

Something more arty hahaha.

#104: beachhead

Ian's first time at the beach! He thought the sand was yucky at first, then he started liking it, then he rolled in it like a dog and tried to eat it. And when it was time to go home he didn't want to leave of course. Kids.

(there's a ton of new Ian pictures here btw, didn't really feel like doing another post with a million Ian pictures again)

#103: "a moment for eternity"

An ad for Tirol of all places. If you look at the bigger picture you're able to see the fool who took this. He has his head in the clouds, as usual.

Sunday, 11 May 2008

#102: heatwave

Liedekerke station! There are only people here around 8AM and 5PM on weekdays, and it's basically completely abandonned on weekends. At least that means I can take a picture without people giving me supicious looks (yeah that's right, I'm a terrorist planning an attack on the most insignificant trainstation in Belgium).

#101: ...et Justice pour tous

From the first book of Justice, Genesis, by Gaspard Augé and Xavier de Rosnay (translated by moi)

"In the beginning there was (relative) Darkness."

"Then Light came into existence."

"Soon, Justice descended upon the world."

"People welcomed the coming of Justice with raised hands..."

"Justice kicked a great deal of (b)ass..."

"...as People shouted "fuck yeah!" at regular intervals.

"And both Justice and People felt in their hearts and minds that all was Good."

You can see more of the gospel of Justice here.

#100: another special

Why not something special for the 100th entry? Like, moving pictures!

I've only been able to play GTAIV for an hour or two, but I'm already liking it a lot more than the undeservedly overhyped GTAIII games. The music, always a strong point of the series, is AWESOME. There's an electro radiostation with Justice and Kavinsky and other cool stuff, and a eastern-europe station hosted by Ruslana!!! But the coolest song is in the strip club: Goldfrapp - Ooh la la. (...I only went into the strip club because I suspected they'd play the song there, I mean, where else would they play it?)

#99: Ian special

Ian is my favourite model. Seriously.

Drunken Ian:

Serious Ian:

Crazy Ian:

Shy Ian:

Then some others I liked:
Here it seems like he's putting a spell on his toys.

And here it seems like he's holding down someone and about to give them the facepalm of doom.

More here.

#98: it's in your eyes

Kylie gig. A couple of people showed up. My sister said not to take my camera along, but I still wanted to take a picture or two. As you can see, we got the worst seats ever! Right under anothe balcony. We could only see half of the stage background, and none of the video screens. That's the last time I let my sister order tickets heh, usually I do that.

Short review: great first half, boring second half (I almost fell asleep at one point, seriously). It also didn't help that she was an hour late. AN HOUR LATE. I guess the stage builders are to "blame", this was only the second date on the tour, and a day after the first one, they probably underestimated the time it takes to tear down, transport and build up the stage. Either way, not fun for us.
Still, first half was very very good, great show. "In your arms" made me get up and dance! But then it's more like a Calvin Harris song with Kylie vocals, so yeah.

Also, my gaydar exploded, in a negative way (too many old yucky queers/queens, not enough cute young gay boys! haha). You should've heard the audience every time some half-naked dancers appeared. Seriously.

#97: it has arrived!

My Pukkelpop sticker!

Now all that's left is the horrible, agonising wait for new names, day schedule, etc etc.

#96: tourists come around in may

till august, when the clouds roll in...

Well, usually they only come from june til late september, but the weather is being exceptionally good this month (so far), there are a lot more tourists over here than usual.

...bloody tourists!

#95: I are ironman

I saw Iron Man today. It rocks. Hard. Really. Seriously. It's so much fun. I already had insanely high expectations, but I still loved every moment of it. Batman, Bond and The Hulk will have a hard time living up to this.

#94: summer lolcat

I are in ur neighbors garden, huntin ur myce.

(yes, another lame attempt at lolcat!)

#93: why so serious?

My sister warned me that Ian wouldn't smile when I wanted to take a picture of him. And she was partly right, as you can see.

(I went to see the Harlem Globetrotters today, and planned to take many pictures of that and make one of those 'picture of the day', but I stupidly forgot my camera and only realised that when I was already there. Oh well)
